From Screening to Learning Assistance with BDF

Following the completion of the Dyslexia Screen Test Assessment, Bali Dyslexia Foundation continued its culminating program through additional learning support classes for students who had previously undergone the screening process. Based on the assessment results, 26 students from 6 elementary schools in Seririt District were identified as requiring specialized learning assistance. These students were selected according to the level of dyslexia identified during the screening process, allowing the support program to be delivered in a more focused and personalized manner.

The support program officially began in March 2026 and continues to run to this day. Sessions are conducted regularly every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with each school receiving 1 hour and 30 minutes of assistance. The participating schools include SD Negeri 1 Pangkungparuk with 10 students, SD Negeri 3 Kalianget with 5 students, SD Negeri 3 Pengastulan with 3 students, SD Negeri 1 Tanguwisia with 3 students, SD Negeri 1 Lokapaksa with 3 students, and SD Negeri 1 Joanyar with 2 students.

In addition to providing extra learning assistance, BDF also conducts monthly monitoring of each student’s literacy development. This monitoring process aims to evaluate improvements in reading, writing, comprehension, and students’ confidence throughout the program. Progress reports are then regularly shared with teachers and schools to ensure that the support provided by BDF remains aligned with classroom learning and school-based educational strategies.

The program aims to help students with dyslexia access learning methods that better match their individual needs. Through a more personalized and gradual approach, students are expected to improve their foundational literacy skills, reduce classroom learning barriers, and build greater confidence in their daily learning experiences. Beyond supporting students directly, the program also assists schools in developing more effective inclusive learning strategies for children with specific learning differences.

Through this ongoing support initiative, Bali Dyslexia Foundation hopes to create a more inclusive and responsive educational environment for every child. This program demonstrates that proper early identification and screening can be followed by meaningful interventions that create a direct positive impact on students’ academic and social development in elementary schools.
